Post by Mr Ted » Sun Aug 02, 2015 7:01 am

Just to let u know its not very gamer friendly
dont be in a hurry to change
I have tried it couldn't get second display working nivda drivers not working
Has realtek sound running so no sound with razer head phones cant get rid of realtek
but I think you only have 1 month to revert back after that you cant. Unless you buy a new copy of windows 7 or 8 etc.

Yeah I am waiting for a month or so before i climb into it, always issues to start with until the drivers catch up etc.
Will let everyone else play guinea pig for me haha
Already had the Tech preview on my HTPC for 6 months or so, and it ran alright, just a glorified Win 8.1 made more Win7 friendly lol

Nice post AliusCairo

Okay another thing people should know about but Microsoft kept fairly quiet on is the fact that it will use your machine to upload updates to other machines over the internet, using your computer as a peer to peer system and using your bandwith.
Here is a link that from microsoft about it which contains a link on how to disable this option.

Good post's people! Keep em coming, have 5 computers sitting here waiting for upgrade, still not hitting the go button yet as waiting for drivers and everything to catch up completely :)

Happy to wait a month or so :)

I have done 2 clean installs on the Win7 Machines, and imaged the disks just in case anything goes wrong, or i want to revert easily....
Even if you do a fresh install of win7 or 8 currently it will still offer you the free upgrade, so you have not missed out etc.

i've upgraded to win10

haven't played around with it a whole lot, but i did disable windows selecting the drivers

only feedback i have at this stage is that UT4 seems to run smoother than before?
other than that, no issues.

i have been getting big lag spikes every 30 seconds, but that could be down to any number of applications running in the background. i haven't been able to pinpoint exactly what it is (ie. Plex, photos backup, dropbox). none are running at the time, but something seems to be polling every 30 seconds. i think this was happening in win8 also. anyway, i just close all the apps down if i want to game, and have had no issue

for win10 itself, it's very easy to use. just seems the best of win7 and win8 combined.

''Just to let u know its not very gamer friendly'' with some of those update settings could make things tricky, i however have been on windows 10 for a little while now never had any issues DUAL Monitors with Nvidia right off the bat. The nvidia drivers crashed once on install the first time but that & one other error when i hit the upgrade button i got this error ''SOMETHING HAPPENED'' lol? Good on ya windows! That P2P information was very helpful :D. What a silly option!
